Covid-19 in China Through Infographics

I would put this infographic after paragraph two. I made this one to further explain China’s Zero Tolerance Policy and what it entails.

I would put this infographic after paragraph 7 where it says “They often trumpet their success at keeping deaths relatively low, especially in contrast to the United States, whose COVID-19 response the Foreign Ministry spokesman has called a “total failure.” “

I would put this infographic after paragraph 11 where it talks about reaching 85% vaccinated. I always wonder if they mean fully vaccinated or at least one dose so I did a graph looking at how those numbers compare.

I used Canva and Adobe Spark for these infographics. I used Canva for the charts and Adobe spark for the icons, text and photos. My only problem with Canva is that the Palette numbers on Adobe Spark don’t always match up, making it hard for consistency between the websites.

I chose to make infographics on these parts of the article because I thought it would be interesting to look at how vast the difference between China and other countries are as it pertains to Covid. When I looked up China’s vaccination statistics and saw that the CDC kept single dose statistics I wanted to visualize the difference.

It took me about 1.5 hours to research for the three infographics with most of the time being spent on looking into what the Zero Tolerance Policy entailed because different sources reported different things. It took me about 2.5 hours to design the infographics with most of the time being spent on the charts. I chose to use a lot of white across the three infographics to stand out and used red and gold because they are China’s flag colors.
