For this first assignment, I noticed the blogs that had already been posted were done about themselves. That really stood out to me and made me NOT want to use myself. Instead, I chose one of my favorite Disney characters of all time, Vanellope Von Schweetz, from Wreck-it-Ralph! After taking some time to gather my information on Miss Schweetz, I went on Canva.com and got started. I decided to use a template only because it has been a long time since I did any sort of graphic work. I felt this site was super user friendly. I chose this particular template because of its color scheme. Vanellope’s colors are typically bright and bold so this template allowed me to highlight that by using more mild tones of her colors. The set fonts were perfect for Vanellope because they were just the right amount of girly without being over-the-top. I loved being able to pull transparent images from online and place them to properly flow with my layout. I worked on this project for only a few hours but that time was FILLED with redo after redo. The thing I loved most about Canva was that it allowed me to view my image on a larger scale before saving and downloading it. This made it much easier to correct lines and other aspects. I am excited to continue on with this course and be able to fine tune my skills!
