Hi, I know you might’ve been expecting a story on a celebrity, maybe a politician, or an activist, but I wanted to take a moment and speak about myself. Who am I? I go by Antonio, a young American kid who grew up in the Caribbean in a little country known as Haiti. Why are you talking about yourself? you may ask. Well, let me tell you a story on how I became Antonio.

It was freshman year and here I was sitting in my college dorm, taking some time to reflect on everything that had been going on. I needed to know whether the path I had chosen was going to be what I would really want to do for the rest of my life. I was questioning myself over and over, “is this what you want Karl?!” First let’s go back to eight months ago before all of this had happened. It was mid April late into the second semester of my senior year of high school and I still hadn’t completely finished any college applications, it was only weeks in counting until I would have to graduate. I had no idea what I wanted to go for; my dad Edner, always encouraged me to towards industrial engineering and at the time the only thing that made me want to consider that field was the money they made and literally nothing else. I completely forgot to think about how things would be in terms of me enjoying what I do and if the life I chose would be the life I love. Apart from that, it all seemed so amazing to me at the time.
The only thing I thought would bring me happiness in life as an adult at the time was money, which was why I decided to go down that path in the first place. I had no idea what I was putting myself into. I did not know whether I was going to be able to go through the engineering program or not, I did not know whether God had that in store for me. Right around that time, I was also into watching videos on Youtube to be more specific travel videos made by kids my age just traveling the world making content that so many people loved, including me. I was amazed by the quality of the edits they made. Therefore being the kid that I was, I searched deep into what it was and how to do it and decided I wanted to do the same or at least I wanted to start my own channel and try out these cinematic short films that were telling a story over a song just through motion and shot of different angles. I wanted to get big, I wanted people to know me through these videos I was going to put out. Keep in mind I had no camera, and no sorts of equipment whatsoever. I had no idea how to edit these videos and I had no idea how to even get those types of angles but, I told myself I was going to do it and so I started. I took money that I had saved up and bought my first ever camera. During that time that I didn’t have my camera, I spent hours learning how to use the camera on youtube and I was passionate to learn how I was going to get those beautiful images and angled shots that those youtubers were getting.

So then I started. A month or so later I asked myself now that I had finished my applications and was waiting for a college acceptance, which of these two would I want to pursue? Which one of them was most important to me? Knowing how hard it is to get a job these days made me turn my eye away from film as a career for the time being at least. Since my passion for film had outgrown so much, I finally took into matter to start my own Youtube channel. I saw the potential I had for this and decided not to waste it. Here is where I would get a glimpse in what I would want to consider doing full time.
Take a look at my work!
