I think this infographic falls under number 1 because it talks about the vast majority of the active-duty force has received at least one shot, but tens of thousands have not. I think people should know how many people in the military have gotten the shot. It says the vast majority, but I wanted to see what percent is the vast majority and what percent hasn’t gotten the shot.
I think this infographic falls under number 3 because it talks about Colonel E. Darrin Cox, and some people don’t know who he, is and where he came from. I also added a picture so people can see what he looks like.
I think this infographic falls under number 5 because it talks about how Military vaccination rates are higher than those of the general population in the United States. Since Military vaccination rates are higher than the general population of the U.S.A, I wanted to make a table showing what percentage of each branch of the Military is fully vaccinated.
The program that I used to create my infographic, was Canva. I have used Canva in the past for most of my infographics, so I am very familiar with the program. I started from scratch when creating my infographic. I wanted to challenge myself with creating my infographic from scratch. I like the program Canva, You can do so much with this program.
There were a lot of elements of the story that caught my eyes. I picked numbers 1, 3, and 5. Number one, it talks about how most military personnel have gotten the vaccine, but some haven’t. I decided to make a pie chart to see what percent has and hasn’t got the vaccine. For number 3, I just decided to make a profile infographic about Colonel E. Darrin Cox. Because it talks about him in number three of the story. For number 5, I decided to make a chart of all the military branches and what percent of each has gotten the vaccine. Number 5 talks about how military vaccination rates are higher than those of the general population in the United States.
I researched this topic by gathering information about the numbers I chose. It took me about an hour to examine my issues, and it took me about an hour to create these sets of infographics, so it took me two hours to complete these finished sets of infographics.
My design process was pretty simple. I decided to use a green background because I thought it would look cool. I made the Pie Chart in Excel and PowerPoint. For the table, I just drew it by hand on Canva, with the line tool. I just used Open Sans Extra, which was the font already selected in Canva.
